Singer and broadcaster Lee Ji-hye (46) urged caution amid the spread of AI (artificial intelligence) deepfake advertisement videos made using her face without permission.

On the 28th, Lee posted on Instagram: "As I mentioned before, it seems these are not domestic companies, and we are currently exploring legal measures to impose sanctions." She expressed the damages caused by fake advertisements. Just recently, she warned of legal action against a brand that unauthorizedly used her face and even photos of her daughter.

However, she has once again been impersonated and suffered from fake advertising. Lee emphasized: "They are using AI to create videos that make it appear as if I am endorsing the product, then linking them for sales. Please be careful not to fall victim to this. We are receiving a huge number of reports via DM (Direct Message), so we are sharing this on our feed."

The problematic deepfake video posted alongside the message clearly showed Lee Ji-hye's face seamlessly synthesized into the content. With an identical appearance to Lee, she promoted the product by saying, "It tastes so delicious," causing confusion among viewers.

Netizens reacted with shock, commenting: "This is terrible," "I thought it was really Lee Ji-hye," "It feels like I'm being deceived. These are bad people," "Oh my, what a scary world," and "The voice isn't hers, but the video quality is insane."
