NewJeans' 'Supernatural' and 'How Sweet' Continue Strong Performance on Major U.S. Billboard Charts


The group NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) is maintaining its popularity on major U.S. Billboard charts with 'Supernatural' and 'How Sweet.'


According to the latest charts released by Billboard on the 30th (local time), the title track 'Supernatural' from NewJeans' Japanese debut single has entered the 'Global (excluding the U.S.)' chart at 32nd place and the 'Global 200' chart at 62nd place for five consecutive weeks. The double single 'How Sweet,' released in Korea, has been on the global charts for nine consecutive weeks. The title track 'How Sweet' is ranked 50th on the 'Global (excluding the U.S.)' chart and 88th on the 'Global 200' chart, while the track 'Bubble Gum' is placed 148th on the 'Global (excluding the U.S.)' chart.


NewJeans' strong performance continues on major domestic music charts as well. 'Supernatural' has held the number one spot on the Bugs weekly chart (for the period from July 22 to 28) for four consecutive weeks, with 'How Sweet' at 4th and 'Bubble Gum' at 8th.


On the Melon weekly chart, 'How Sweet' is at 2nd place, and 'Supernatural' is at 4th, both rising one spot from the previous week. Additionally, 'Bubble Gum' has secured the 9th spot, placing three of their songs in the top 10 of this chart. Despite having been released two months and one month ago respectively, NewJeans' tracks continue to show consistent popularity. Looking at the entire Melon weekly chart, an impressive 10 songs by NewJeans are in the rankings.


NewJeans' songs are also widely loved in Japan. They have eight songs on Spotify Japan's 'Weekly Top Songs' (for the period from July 19 to 25) and seven songs on Apple Music Japan's 'Top 100.'


Meanwhile, NewJeans is set to perform at the halftime show of the '2024 Coupang Play Series' match between Bayern Munich and Tottenham, held at Seoul World Cup Stadium on August 3 at 8 PM. The group's unique and energetic performance is highly anticipated by global fans.
