BLACKPINK's Rosé Spreads Korean Drinking Culture with 'Somaek' Combo in Her New Song 'APT.'

As BLACKPINK member Rosé promotes her new song 'APT.,' she has been introducing Korean drinking culture to international audiences.

Recently, Vogue magazine released a video on their YouTube channel titled "Rose Cooks Kimchi Fried Rice Dinner." In the video, Rosé prepares kimchi fried rice and "somaek" (a mix of soju and beer). While introducing the drink, she explained, "It's a drinking game you play with friends. What I’m making now is 'somaek,' a perfect combination of soju and beer. 'So' from soju and 'maek' from maekju (beer) combine. It makes you a bit tipsy, but I like it."

Rosé demonstrated mixing soju and beer in the right proportions, taking a sip, and expressing her satisfaction with "Mmm, that’s good."

She also introduced the "Apartment" game, saying, "It's a Korean drinking game. 'APT.' is short for apartment, and everyone chants 'apartment, apartment.' Then, you all gather your hands together and shout, 'It's 00's favorite game!' If someone calls out '9th floor' of the apartment, the person on the 9th floor gets caught." She even demonstrated how the game works.
