"Received the Loudest Cheers": LE SSERAFIM Earns High Praise from Foreign Media after Winning at the 2024 MTV EMA

K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM (members Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae) has risen to become a "global-tier" artist. 

On November 10 (local time), LE SSERAFIM delivered a solo performance at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA), Europe's largest music awards ceremony, and earned the honor of winning in the 'Best Push' category. Following the awards, major foreign media outlets showered LE SSERAFIM with praise.

BBC, the UK's public broadcaster, reported, "LE SSERAFIM, a K-pop girl group that set remarkable records in the United States, made their debut in the UK. Although Le Sserafim may be unfamiliar to British audiences, they received the loudest cheers of the night." The BBC added that the group’s recognition in the UK is "currently low but bound to rise," suggesting strong prospects for their success. 

Leading British magazine NME highlighted the group's "attention-grabbing large-scale performance" and their victory in the competitive 'Best Push' category. Meanwhile, the US music outlet Billboard celebrated the group's achievement, stating, "They were rewarded for their hard work," acknowledging Le Sserafim’s efforts and accomplishments this year.

As of 7 a.m. on the 12th, LE SSERAFIM’s performance video from the 2024 MTV EMA had the highest view count on MTV’s official YouTube channel. This accomplishment is even more remarkable given that global artists like Tyla, Benson Boone, and RAYE also performed at the event. The girl group also graced the main page of the official MTV EMA website, proving their global appeal. During the awards ceremony, host Rita Ora and the band The Warning selected LE SSERAFIM as the group they would most like to collaborate with, and many music fans and fellow artists alike took notice of their powerful presence.

LE SSERAFIM is leveraging overseas awards as a springboard to world-class status. Prior to the 2024 MTV EMA, the group had performed at the preshow for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), one of the four major music awards in the US, in September, where they won the 'PUSH Performance of the Year' category. After making a powerful impression at an American awards show, the group received an invitation to Europe's biggest music event, achieving significant success and capturing worldwide attention for their next steps.
