Daybreak's Comeback D-DAY: Marking 17 Years with "Semicolon"

South Korean band Daybreak has officially released their new album SEMICOLON, marking a significant milestone in their 17-year career. The album's title track, also named "SEMICOLON", is a pop-rock song in a minor key—the first of its kind among their title tracks since their debut album.

This song is characterized by its restrained yet poignant vocals, emotional string arrangements, and rhythmical, richly layered keyboard and bass lines, creating a tapestry of diverse emotions. Notably, the lyrics "Neither the end nor a pause, just in-between" use the relationship between a period and a semicolon as a metaphor to describe the confusion of being unable to define the nature of a breakup. The relatable sentiment aims to resonate deeply with listeners.

Actor Kim Kang-min, who shares the same agency as Daybreak, lends his support by starring in the "SEMICOLON" music video. His performance amplifies the unique emotional depth of the song, further enhancing its distinctive atmosphere.

Second Title Track: "Old & Wise"

The second title track, "Old & Wise", serves as a continuation of the story from "Bumper Car", a track from their 2007 debut album. The song reflects on embracing yet another stage of youth and features an uplifting message. As the track progresses, the seamless blend of a powerful band sound and climactic vocals inspires courage and reignites a burning passion in the listener's heart.

With SEMICOLON, Daybreak celebrates their journey, inviting fans to reflect on their past while offering renewed hope and energy for the future.
