BOYNEXTDOOR Named ‘Rookies of the Year’ by U.S. Consequence
BOYNEXTDOOR is solidifying their position as one of the hottest rising groups, gaining significant recognition from various international media outlets.
Debuting in May last year, BOYNEXTDOOR (Seongho, Riwoo, Myung Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, Woonhak) has been active this year with back-to-back releases of their second and third mini-albums, ‘HOW?’ and ‘19.99’. Their relatable, everyday-themed music and captivating performances have drawn attention, leading to a steady rise in popularity and breaking their own records.
On June 17, U.S. music publication Consequence recognized BOYNEXTDOOR as ‘Rookies of the Year’ in its “2024 K-pop Yearbook.” The outlet praised the group, stating, “Debuting in 2023, BOYNEXTDOOR has already solidified their place as a powerful performance group, building a reputation so quickly that the term ‘rookie’ almost seems inadequate.”
In an interview with the publication, BOYNEXTDOOR expressed their gratitude, saying, “We’re truly thankful and proud to have received so much love and support this year.” They added, “We’re looking forward to 2025 as a year full of opportunities to learn and grow even more. We hope to spend more time with ONEDOOR (our fandom) next year.”
BOYNEXTDOOR’s music also received positive recognition. The title track of their third mini-album, ‘Nice Guy,’ was ranked 25th in the ‘HIT K-POP’ category at Japan’s USEN Music Award 2024, proving their rising popularity in Japan as well.
