"K-Pop Frontman" BTS Jimin Becomes First K-Pop Soloist to Spend 200 Days on Spotify’s U.S. Artist Chart
BTS's Jimin has once again demonstrated his remarkable presence in the U.S., earning the title of "K-Pop Frontman."
As of January 4, Jimin has achieved a milestone on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, by spending 200 days on the U.S. Daily Top Artists chart. He is the first and only K-pop soloist to surpass 200 days on this chart. Central to Jimin's growing popularity in the U.S. is the song "Who," released in July of last year. "Who" climbed 29 spots from the previous week to rank 9th on Spotify’s U.S. Weekly Top Songs chart, extending its record as the longest-charting K-pop song in the Top 10 for 17 weeks.
On the Spotify U.S. Daily Top Songs chart, "Who" has remained charted for 169 consecutive days since its release, with 111 of those days spent in the Top 10. This achievement marks the longest streak for a song by an Asian artist. Meanwhile, the album "Muse," which includes "Who," has stayed on Spotify’s U.S. Weekly Top Albums chart for 24 consecutive weeks, with 8 of those weeks in the Top 15. This makes it the first and only K-pop solo album to achieve such a feat.
Thanks to these accomplishments, Jimin has become the first and only K-pop soloist in Spotify U.S. chart history to surpass 400 million filtered streams. Spotify's chart counts only streams that exclude infinite looping, ensuring accurate data.
