82MAJOR Shakes Up the K-Pop Hip-Hop Scene in Just One Year of Debut: Rolling Stone Praises the Group as "Beyond a Rookie Group"

The boy group 82MAJOR has made a strong impression on the global music scene by entering the Billboard charts, showcasing their potential for international success.

On January 6 (local time), Rolling Stone published a feature article titled, "82MAJOR Takes the Global Stage: Billboard Entry and the Rising New Force in K-Hip-Hop." According to the article, "In just one year since their debut, 82MAJOR has entered the Billboard charts with their second mini-album 'X-82.' This marks a promising first step on their journey toward global stardom."

Rolling Stone lauded the group, stating, "Despite being a first-year rookie group, 82MAJOR has already surpassed the expectations for a rookie. All six members deliver outstanding performances, and their fresh interpretation of K-hip-hop, supported by self-production and a distinctive musical style, sets them apart."

Regarding their mini-album X-82, the publication described it as "an album that reflects the group's current confidence and state of freedom." They continued, "82MAJOR strikes a delicate balance between their unique musical perspective and the kind of music that resonates with the masses. With bold, genre-defying sounds and an innovative approach to music and identity, they are shaking up the K-pop industry as disruptors."

Highlighting 82MAJOR's achievements, the article delved into their entry into various Billboard charts, as well as the group's musical allure and dedicated efforts. Rolling Stone expressed high expectations for the group's future global growth.

Last November, 82MAJOR achieved remarkable results on several Billboard charts, ranking 45th on the Albums Sales chart, 37th on the Current Album Sales chart, 24th on the Emerging Artist chart, and 15th on the World Sales chart. Additionally, in December, they secured the 6th spot on the GLOBAL TOP 150 INDEPENDENT AIRPLAY CHART by U.S. radio tracking service DRT. Their growing presence was further solidified when they featured in a fashion spread for U.S. magazine WWD, among other international ventures.

Currently, 82MAJOR is actively promoting their second mini-album X-82 and its title track "Stuck" (Korean title: "혀끝"), which was released in October of last year.
