RIIZE Kicks Off the New Year with a Remake of Hug
RIIZE, under SM Entertainment, continues to ride their wave of success into the new year with their remake single Hug.
On January 16, RIIZE appeared on Mnet's M Countdown, where they captured attention with their charming Hug remake concept. Alongside MC Sohee, the group introduced their unique IDs, performed an a cappella intro, and showcased a dance challenge demonstration. This was followed by a special stage performance of Hug, where their impressive live vocals and adorable stage presence captivated the audience.
Earlier that morning, RIIZE made their debut appearance on a radio show, greeting listeners with a respectful bow on MBC FM4U’s Good Morning, This is Yoon Sang. DJ Yoon Sang warmly praised the group, saying, “RIIZE seems to be creating new records and history, making me want to root for them.” The interaction displayed a heartwarming camaraderie between seniors and juniors in the music industry.
RIIZE expressed their determination for the year ahead, saying, “Since we aim to rise even higher, we’ve started the new year with a commitment to work harder. We’re also excited about the activities we’ll prepare for this year, and we hope fans look forward to them as well.”
RIIZE’s single Hug is a remake of TVXQ’s debut track and will be featured in SM’s 30th-anniversary commemorative album, set to release on February 14. The song blends nostalgic newtro vibes with smooth vocals, offering a fresh reinterpretation of the original’s timeless sentiment. The accompanying stage video has already earned high praise and topped YouTube’s trending music chart, further solidifying RIIZE’s popularity.
