TWS Named Billboard’s K-Pop Rookie of the Month: "The Most Popular Group of Last Year"

Rising K-pop boy group TWS (Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, Kyungmin) has been selected as Billboard’s K-Pop Rookie of the Month for January 2025.

On January 27 (local time), Billboard published an article titled "TWS Is Billboard's K-Pop Rookie of the Month for January," spotlighting the group’s rapid success. The article highlighted TWS’s debut song "First Meeting Doesn't Go as Planned" reaching No. 1 on Melon’s 2024 Year-End Chart, acknowledging them as the most popular K-pop group of last year.

Billboard praised the group for taking a different approach from other recent boy groups, stating,
"TWS stands out by emphasizing emotional depth through future bass-based music, setting them apart from the typical K-pop sound."

The article further noted,
