Song Ga-in Releases 4th Studio Album Ga-in; Dal Today
The "Queen of Trot," Song Ga-in, unveils her highly anticipated 4th studio album, Ga-in; Dal, today, February 11, at 6 PM KST on various online music platforms. Returning after 2 years and 10 months, Song Ga-in showcases deeper emotions and a fresh musical direction in this comeback.
An Expanded Musical Spectrum
While staying true to her signature traditional trot style, Ga-in; Dal explores a diverse range of genres, including ballads, medium-tempo tracks, and modern pop, offering listeners more accessible and singable melodies.
Double Title Tracks
- "Asadal" – Inspired by the tragic legend of Asadal, the stonemason who built the Seokgatap Pagoda in Bulguksa, Gyeongju. Song Ga-in’s unique han-filled (sorrowful) Korean traditional vocal style leads this song, evoking deep emotional resonance through its poetic lyrics and melancholic melody.
- "Tears Fall" – Produced by the legendary singer-songwriter Sim Soo-bong, this song delicately portrays the emotions of saying goodbye to a loved one. The combination of Sim Soo-bong’s signature melody and Song Ga-in’s heartfelt delivery has already proven successful, as the pre-released track entered major music charts upon release.
Tracklist Overview
In addition to the title tracks, the album features nine songs, each telling a unique story:
- "Forever" – A song written by Song Ga-in herself as a special gift to her fans.
- "Parting Song" – A sentimental traditional trot ballad.
- "Red Peony Blossom" – Capturing the passionate love of a young couple.
- "Why Me" – A breakup anthem with a Latin-funk twist.
- "Striped Hanbok" – A touching tribute to a mother’s love, set to a slow rock melody.
- "A Father’s Tears" – A heartfelt trot ballad dedicated to fathers.
- "It Will Pass" – A country-style foxtrot offering a message of hope.
With Ga-in; Dal, Song Ga-in once again proves why she remains a dominant force in the trot music scene. Fans eagerly anticipate her new stage performances and the emotional depth she brings to each song.
