IVE’s Rei Captivates Japan, Graces Cover of SPU RMay Issue
IVE’s Rei is proving her popularity in Japan, adorning the cover of the renowned Japanese fashion magazine SPU R’s May issue.
SPU Rrecently unveiled the cover and various pictorial cuts featuring Rei on its official website. In the released cover image, Rei exudes a unique aura, immediately capturing attention. She flawlessly pulls off a long dress with a floral pattern and a wide-brimmed hat adorned with feathers, showcasing a visual that blends loveliness and elegance, eliciting admiration from viewers.
Another pictorial highlights Rei’s photogenic charm. Wearing a long dress, she delicately lifts the hem, creating an elegant atmosphere. In a cut featuring a pastel yellow mini dress, she rests her chin on her hand, emphasizing the feather embellishments on the sleeves and the dotted gloves.
Furthermore, in a shot with red tights and heels, she casually sits on a chair, radiating a stylish appeal while captivating the camera with her deep gaze, completing her own distinctive vibe. SPU Rpraised her, stating, “Her expressive ability to showcase various expressions and poses for each concept was impressive.” During the accompanying interview, Rei shared diverse stories under the themes of ‘uniqueness’ and ‘being true to oneself.’ When discussing her personal use of social media, Rei revealed, “I’ve always enjoyed expressing myself. I always enjoy fashion shoots, and I even set a goal for 2025 to be on a magazine cover alone, so I’m honored it’s happening so quickly.”
Having debuted as a member of IVE in 2021, Rei has captured the hearts of the public with her lovely yet trendy charm. She has led numerous trends, such as the ‘Kong-soonie pose’ and ‘ribbon peace,’ and is currently receiving much love for the ‘Runaway Guinea Pig’ challenge with her latest song, ‘ATTITUDE.’
Her popularity in Japan is also soaring. IVE performed at ‘Summer Sonic 2024,’ Japan’s largest music festival, and ‘Tokyo Girls Collection,’ Japan’s largest fashion festival, last year. They also made headlines by entering the Tokyo Dome, known as the ‘holy land of Japanese performances.’ Specifically, at the Tokyo Dome, they held an encore concert for their first world tour, ‘SHOW WHAT I HAVE,’ attracting over 95,800 spectators over two days, demonstrating their immense influence.
Riding this momentum, IVE will be holding a fan concert, ‘IVE SCOUT,’ in Seoul and Japan in April, to meet their fans, DIVE (official fan club name). Rei has also been selected as the MC for the first day of the 2nd ‘ASIA STAR ENTERTAINER AWARDS 2025’ to be held in Yokohama K-Arena, Yokohama, Japan on May 28th and 29th, promising a dazzling performance.
Meanwhile, the pictorial and interview featuring Rei’s unique charm can be found in the May issue of SPUR.
