MONSTA X's Hyungwon Confirmed as MC for 'ASEA 2025' First Awards Ceremony

MONSTA X member Hyungwon has been confirmed to attend 'ASEA 2025'.

'Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025 presented by zozotown' (ASEA 2025), a festival where music, stars, and fans come together, will be held on May 28th and 29th at the K-Arena Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan. The ASEA organizing committee officially announced on April 3rd that Hyungwon will be participating. Hyungwon enlisted in the military on November 14th, 2023, and has been faithfully fulfilling his national duty as an active-duty soldier. With his scheduled discharge on May 13th, his inclusion in the 'ASEA 2025' lineup has heightened anticipation for his vibrant activities after his military service.

Hyungwon will be an MC on the second day of the awards ceremony, May 29th, alongside actress Kim Hye-yoon and THE BOYZ member Younghoon. Hyungwon was the first MC to be confirmed for 'ASEA 2025,' but the announcement was delayed due to his military service.

Having debuted in 2015, Hyungwon has established himself as a “trustworthy performance group” ('믿듣퍼' - a group you can trust to listen to and watch) thanks to his excellent live performances and producing skills. In 2023, he formed the unit SHOWNU X HYUNGWON with the team’s leader Shownu, further expanding his musical spectrum. As an all-rounder who continues to be active in acting, entertainment, MC work, and as DJ H.ONE, he is expected to continue to showcase his overwhelming presence at 'ASEA 2025'. A full group comeback is also on the horizon. The day after his discharge, on May 14th, Hyungwon will celebrate the 10th anniversary of MONSTA X’s debut with Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Joohyun, and I.M.

Meanwhile, the second installment of 'ASEA' has confirmed the participation of aespa, ATARASHII GAKKO!, &TEAM, BADVILLAIN, ENHYPEN, HANA, Hearts2Hearts, KiiiKiii, NCT WISH, NEXZ, NiziU, n.SSign, SAKURAZAKA46, SKY-HI, THE BOYZ, THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE, timelesz, and Xdinary Heroes (listed in alphabetical order).

THE BOYZ member Juyeon and IVE member Rei will host the first day, May 28th. Actor Jang Geun-suk will be the prestigious presenter of the Grand Prize on the first day. For the second day, actress Kim Hye-yoon, MONSTA X’s Hyungwon, and THE BOYZ member Younghoon have been selected as MCs. Actor Choo Young-woo, who is also nominated in the actor category, will also be attending 'ASEA 2025'.
