MONSTA X’s Shownu Surprises Fans

MONSTA X’s Shownu delighted fans with a surprise appearance and collaboration with world-renowned DJ and producer Steve Aoki at EDC Korea.

Shownu made a surprise appearance on Steve Aoki’s stage at the “2025 EDC KOREA” music festival held at Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon on April 25th, without any prior announcement. As Steve Aoki performed “Play it Cool,” Shownu unexpectedly joined him on stage, delivering a refreshing live performance and energetically dancing along to Aoki’s DJing, invigorating the Friday night crowd.

“Play it Cool” is a track from MONSTA X’s second full album, Part 2, “TAKE.2 ‘WE ARE HERE,’” and Aoki previously participated in its production, forging a connection with the group. Previously, MONSTA X collaborated with Steve Aoki at the “iHeartRadio Music Festival 2019” in Las Vegas, USA, in September 2019. In December of the same year, they once again shared the stage at the “MDL BEAST Festival” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, showcasing their perfect synergy and chemistry, captivating the local audience.

This performance was an impromptu collaboration arranged by Steve Aoki upon his visit to Korea, marking their first joint performance in approximately five years. After the show, Steve Aoki uploaded a video of the performance with Shownu on his social media, and Shownu also shared photos taken together on MONSTA X’s official SNS, demonstrating their enduring friendship and delighting fans.

Shownu is currently engaging with fans through various activities. Last year, he made a successful musical debut with “The Great Comet,” and he has been active as the main MC of the YouTube web entertainment show “No Forgetting,” winning the Digital Content Award at the “2024 KBS Entertainment Awards.” Furthermore, in February, he walked the runway at Milan Fashion Week as an ambassador for the French premium lifestyle brand K-WAY®, demonstrating his influence.

Meanwhile, MONSTA X, which includes Shownu, will celebrate their 10th debut anniversary on May 14th. They plan to continue meeting with fans through diverse activities in the future.
