BTS’s Jimin’s ‘Lie’ is continuing its impressive run, achieving a new milestone by surpassing 260 million streams on the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify.

Released in 2016 as part of BTS’s second full-length album, ‘Wings,’ ‘Lie’ reached this new height as of April 26th. Previously, in January 2023, ‘Lie’ became the first song from the ‘Wings’ album, excluding the title track ‘Blood Sweat & Tears,’ to reach 200 million streams, joining BTS’s 200 million stream club as its 53rd song.

‘Lie’ is particularly meaningful as Jimin directly participated in its lyrics and composition. The song samples ‘Spanish Dance No. 1’ from the opera ‘La Vida Breve’ by Spanish modern composer Manuel de Falla, blending classical melodies with Jimin’s powerful and emotionally rich vocals, earning it critical acclaim as a “K-Pop masterpiece.” It previously became the first song from the ‘Wings’ album, excluding the title track ‘Blood Sweat & Tears,’ to reach 200 million streams, joining BTS’s 200 million stream club as its 53rd song.
